Monica Sampson, LMSW, is a dedicated clinical and macro social worker with more than 30 years of experience supporting children, youth, families, and communities. As a Behavioral Health Therapist, she offers compassionate, culturally-aware care to individuals and families seeking meaningful healing, growth, and lasting change.
Monica’s work is grounded in the principles of social justice, belonging, and empowerment. She brings deep expertise in trauma-informed care, family systems, and identity-centered healing, informed by decades of leadership in child welfare, community mental health, and LGBTQ+ family support services.
In addition to her private practice, Monica serves as Clinical Faculty at the University of Michigan School of Social Work, where she teaches future social workers through a lens of equity, power, and inclusion. Her lifelong commitment is to foster resilience and strengthen communities—one person, one family, and one connection at a time.
